In this lesson we will go a step further with WordPress Menus and demonstrate how to create a custom top-level menu with two sub-menus and add sub-menus to the Settings and Tools top-level menus. With this information you will have all the information you need to produce your own admin menus and options pages for your plugins. In the last few years the powerful open source WordPress software has become very popular, not just for basic blogs but for full blown web environments. This has been made possible to a large part by the extensibility provided by the WordPress Plugin API interface.

Also name the picture for what it is. If it is a picture of a whale, name it whale.jpg. Pages Pages Go to a page and notice the permalinks there. There are no tags! Appearance Widgets Show off the tag cloud. Not required, but not exactly rotten either. I like to add a random post generator. Plugins plugins enable and use Akismet Settings general Adjust the site title and the tag line. Also check your email address. It will email you whenver someone posts a comment. Get the plugin here: bit.ly The plugin will work on all WordPress installs, but since all themes are different,you will need to style it to make it fit into your theme. The plugins creates a post_meta_box on your wordpress post edit page so you can select which image to use in the slider. This video shows how to add images to the content slider and tweak the CSS to make it fit. If you want a Free Premium Wordpress theme with the AnythingSlider already installed, go to mattdunlap.org to get it. The theme is the same one I'm using for my blog.
